We are now entering the last week of October and in a few shorts weeks we will start seeing the cold weather entering the area surrounding Stewart Ridge. Before the cold weather enters the area in the next few weeks enjoy some Halloween Fun with Festivals and Activities around the area.

“Village of Screamfield” Haunted House Opens for Scares
When: Oct. 16 – 25 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Basement of the Plainfield Police Department on 143rd Street
The “Village of Screamfield” is held by the Foundation for Excellence, private fundraising organization supporting District 202 students, staff, schools, and community. The event includes a “full scare” traditional haunted house appropriate for middle and high school-age students and adults.
“Mayor Scream’s Screamfest”
When: Oct 23 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A family friendly event perfect for elementary age students. The “Mayor Scream’s Screamfest” will include a mild haunted house, trick-or-treating, face painting, games, a hayrack ride and more. Visit
Boo! at the Zoo
When: Oct. 19 -27
Where: Brookfield Zoo
Halloween fun awaits families at Brookfield Zoo’s annual Boo! at the Zoo celebration. The popular daytime event, presented by Fisher-Price, features a Costume Parade, Costume Showcase, professional pumpkin-carving demonstrations, not-so-scary games and activities, special animal Zoo Chats, and haunted hayrides. Fall Color Festival
